Hazelwood Keeps Dr. King’s Dream Alive with 15th Annual Tribute

City of Hazelwood’s Community Enrichment Commission will be hosting its 15th Annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,. on Sunday, Jan. 15. The event is going to be held at Civic Center East, 8969 Dunn Road. The starting time is 7 p.m.

This year’s program will feature Dan Isom, Ph. D. Des Lee Professor of Policing and the Community, University of Missouri-St. Louis, Retired Chief of Police-City of St. Louis, as the keynote speaker. Other participants include Howard Richards, Senior Manager of External Relations, MU College of Arts and Science and Mizzou Football Color Analyst on the Tiger Radio Network, Mayor Matthew Robinson of Hazelwood and the 2017 NCCU Oratory Contest winner.

Musical entertainment will be provided by David Graham, a two-time “Comedy Central” veteran, who has performed his Lionel Richie Experience Show at Hazelwood’s Food Truck Night at Howdershell Park.

The celebration closes with a memorable candlelighting ceremony honoring the legacy of Dr. King. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
