Hazelwood’s Annual Fireworks Display at White Birch Park July 4

The City of Hazelwood is gearing up to present another spectacular pyro-musical fireworks display for residents and guests on Monday, July 4, at White Birch Park, 1186 Teson Road. The show is scheduled to begin at dusk, around 9:15 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Hazelwood has contracted with J&M Displays, Inc., to do this year’s pyro-musical fireworks display. The shell count will be the same as last year’s display, giving residents another great Fourth of July celebration to enjoy. The night sky around Hazelwood will light up with 1,280 two to four inch shells and 20 multi-shell barrages bursting in air, adding 3,800 rocket explosions to the program. Approximate length of the program will be 20 minutes.

As in the past, there is no public parking at White Birch Park, with the exception of a limited number of accessible parking spots. Other parking areas include the following: Armstrong Elementary School; Hazelwood West High School; Howdershell Park; and the Knights of Columbus. Shuttle bus service will be provided for Armstrong Elementary School and Hazelwood West, starting at 7 p.m. Those who park their vehicles at Howdershell Park and Knights of Columbus can walk to the park.

To ensure the safety of all citizens, the City of Hazelwood will be restricting parking on streets which surround White Birch Park. This will allow for safe arrival and departure of pedestrians from the park. The following streets will have signs posted saying, NO PARKING FROM 6 P.M. TO 11 P.M., on July 4^th: Altavia Dr.; Chula, Dr.; Monte Dr.; Christina Marie Lane; Christina Marie Court; Woodcrest Lane; Nathaniel Court; Amanda Lynn Dr.; Freeland Dr.; and Teson Road.

“The City of Hazelwood is proud to carry on its tradition of providing residents with a fantastic Fourth of July fireworks display to enjoy with family, friends and neighbors,” said Hazelwood Mayor Matthew Robinson. “We appreciate how supportive our residents have been about the fireworks shows we’ve provided for them over the years. We encourage everyone to show their patriotism by coming out to White Birch Park and making our community the place to be for celebrating America’s Independence Day.”

In the event rain postpones the fireworks display on July 4^th, plans are to reschedule for July 5^th. For more information on Hazelwood’s Fourth of July fireworks, call the Recreation Office at (314) 731-0980.
