All Propositions in Florissant, Hazelwood Pass

Florissant residents approve Propositions B, R, and A. Prop B in Tuesday’s elections with big margins. Props A, B won by better than 2-1 margins, while Prop R, which was opposed by some real estate and rental apartment owners still won by 4,240-2,527 in unofficial results reported Wednesday.

Prop A allows the city to charge an annual registration fee of $200 for each residence that has been vacant for more than 6 months. Prop R will increase the fee for a residential rental license to $50 per rental unit. Passage of A and R will allow the city to monitor rental properties and vacant houses

Mayor Tom Schneider expressed thanks to Florissant residents. “When you present our residents with a well-thought and progressive plan on issues, they turn out to support it,” The city held three public meetings on the propositions. He gave a special thanks to the council and especially Joyce Pagano and Tim Jones for “all their dedicated work on the campaign,” The mayor was also pleased that Prop B to continue local sales tax on automobiles purchased outside of Missouri ssociation and Johnny Londoff Jr. on the campaign in efforts to make it Prop B on all municipal ballots in the metro area. “It was a clean-sweep in St. Louis Count.”

In the Ferguson-Florissant School District, incumbent Leslie   Hogstead

and Connie Harge were elected to 3-year terms on the school board.

   The Black Jack Fire Protection District levy hike for “not more than 15 cents per $100 assessed valuation,” as the ballot issue stated, was approved 3,623-2,295. The additional revenues will be used for the

firefighters, EMTs and Paramedics pension program. In Black Jack City Council races incumbents Sandra Miller and Arnold Hinkle were reelected to 2-year terms. In the City of Hazelwood Ward 5 race incumbent Russell Todd defeated Lisa M. Matlock 117-90. All four propositions for Charter Amendments on the City of Hazelwood were approved.
