Greater North County Chamber Board Supporting Prop B

The Greater North County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors at the March Board meeting voted to endorse Proposition B, which is on the April 5th ballot in the Chamber-member cities of Bellefontaine Neighbors, Cool Valley and Florissant.

Proposition B would allow those cities to continue applying and collecting the local sales tax on the titling of motor vehicles, trailers, boats, and outboard motors that were purchased from a source other than a licensed Missouri dealer.

The Chamber Board of Directors stated: The board recognizes that a rejection of this measure would result in a reduction of local revenue to provide vital services in those cities and it would place Missouri dealers of motorized vehicles, outboard motors, boats, and trailers at a competitive disadvantage to non-Missouri dealers of those items.

Many North County cities, including Hazelwood and Ferguson, have already passed similar propositions.
