Spring Brush Collection March 21 in Hazelwood; Instructions For Pick-up

Hazelwood residents who have large tree limbs down in their yards can dispose of them in the city’s annual Spring Brush Collection, which begins March 21. City crews will collect brush on each street one time during the scheduled week, so residents must be aware of the assignments, which are posted on the city’s website at www.hazelwoodmo.org under “Latest News” or in the Winter/Spring 2016 Activity Guide on pages 27-30.

Residents should stack their tree limbs and shrubbery trimmings at the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of their street’s designated pick-up week. The cut ends of the tree limbs and shrubbery trimmings must face the street.

Additional instructions are as follows:

  • Do not cut the branches into short pieces.
  • Do not put any wire, metal, trash, garden waste or other debris in the brush to be chipped. These can seriously injure the crew and damage the chipper.
  • Be aware that no stumps or limbs larger than 6 inches in diameter will be taken by the city.
  • If you hire contractors to do the trimming, the contractors must haul the debris away and not leave it at the curb for city crews to pick up.

For questions regarding Hazelwood’s 2016 Spring Brush Collection Schedule, contact the Street Maintenance Department at 314-731-8701 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
