The St. Louis Zoo Association is moving forward with plans to convert the huge Plumbers and Pipefitters 425 acres into conservation breeding grounds at the Spanish Lake area site. Future plans could include a safari park ride through the grounds.

Zoo leaders are working with North County civic and business groups including North County Inc. and the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce to promote this major attraction coming to our area.

One of its current projects is Zoo leaders asking educators, residents, and organizations that provide or utilize educational services to north St. Louis County residents to join them for one of two community discussions offered. Zoo reps are interested in where the educational resources are located, how often they are used, and what the community enjoys most about them.

This information will be used to co-design the future of education at and around the Zoo’s new property in North St. Louis County. Participants may only register for one date. Call 314- 376-2315 or 314-376-2314 for more information.

Those who feel they may qualify for this project can go to register online: stlzoo.org/edresearch. The dates and locations of two meetings are.
