The Florissant Fine Arts Council is presenting Irving Berlin’s “I Love a Piano” on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 8 p.m., at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre.
“I Love a Piano” is a nostalgic musical journey spanning seven decades of American history as seen through the eyes of the composer himself, Irving Berlin. Using 64 of his enduring and popular favorites, this remarkable evening of entertainment captures the spirit of America from the Ragtime rhythms of the earlier 20th century through the swinging sophistication of the 20s and 30s.
From the sentimental songs that inspired a nation through two World Wars to the innocent optimism of the 1950s, these are timeless classics brought to life for an unforgettable evening of music and dance. Timeless classics like “White Christmas,” “Puttin’ On the Ritz,” and “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” define our musical and cultural heritage and have audiences cheering nationwide.
