Candidate Filing Opens Dec. 15 for Hazelwood City Council Election

 

Hazelwood will hold an election Tuesday, April 5, for the City Council seats in Wards 1, 3, 5 and 7, each for a 3-year term. The Ward 4 seat is for 1 year to fill an unexpired term. Candidate filing begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, and ends at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Candidates interested in one of these seats must file a declaration of candidacy with the City Clerk at Hazelwood City Hall, 415 Elm Grove Lane. Petitions for each Ward seat vacancy are available at the Hazelwood City Clerk’s Office during regular business hours.

To qualify, candidates must be at least age 21 and a registered voter of the city. They also must have lived in the City of Hazelwood for 2 years immediately prior to the election and currently reside in the Ward they want to represent.
