When Patricia Korte posted on Facebook asking for advice on getting a wheelchair ramp built for her brother-in-law Mike Korte, she had no idea the caring, giving people of Florissant would repay all the kindnesses Mike had done himself for others over the years.  Less than three weeks after her Facebook post the ramp is ready and waiting for Mike to come home.

Mark Behlmann drew the plans for the ramp.  The materials, costing almost $1,000, were discounted by Handyman Hardware and purchased by the Florissant Rotary Club.  Led by Mark Behlmann. 30 or more volunteers came out on a cold, damp Saturday morning and contributed approximately 100 hours of labor to build the ramp.

According to his sister-in-law Patricia, Mike was overwhelmed by the generosity displayed to build the ramp.  After the ramp was completed, Kate Korte, Mike’s wife posted on Facebook “There aren’t words to describe how grateful and thankful we are to have such wonderful people in our lives to help us thru this difficult time”.
