Hazelwood Police to Step Up Drunk Driving Enforcement

The Hazelwood Police Department will again be conducting numerous high-visibility sobriety checkpoints during the upcoming holiday season. The first checkpoint is scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 27th and the checkpoints will be supplemented with saturation patrols.

Hazelwood Police Chief Gregg Hall said Hazelwood police officers will be aggressively looking for drunk drivers during the campaign and will arrest anyone caught driving drunk. “Each year, over 10,000 people are killed in drunk driving crashes – one every 52 minutes – and over 290,000 people are injured. We want to encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice. Drive sober, or designate a driver,” Chief Hall said.

During the upcoming holiday season, the Hazelwood Police Department wants all motorists to buckle up, drive sober and arrive alive. For more information, visit www.saveMOlives.com.
