High School Boys Soccer will begin District Tournaments on Nov. 1, at the earliest, and will close no later than Nov. 8.
Trinity Catholic will host Class One, District Two, which is an eight-team tournament. Joining Trinity will be North County Tech, Lutheran North, Crossroads College Prep, Maplewood-Richmond Heights and three Public High League teams — Carnahan High School of the Future, Cleveland NJROTC and Metro. The district winner will advance to the Quarterfinal round, Nov. 13 at the Anheuser-Busch Center, Fenton.
In Class Three five Suburban North Conference teams will be in District Two at the Florissant Civic Center Park, next to the Eagan Civic Center. Those teams are Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, McCluer North, McCluer and Ritenour. Two other Suburban North teams, Hazelwood West and Pattonville, will be in District Seven at Fort Zumwalt East, a new high school in St. Peters just east of the Rec-Plex, and Fort Zumwalt North, Fort Zumwalt South and Francis Howell North will be competing there.
Class Four district winners will play in the Nov. 11 Sectional round, at the A-B Center, and the Sectional winners will play Nov. 15 at the A-B Center. The State Semifinals and Finals, for all classes will be Nov. 21-22 at the A-B Center.
Meanwhile there are no district meets in Boys Swimming and Diving. Swimmers and Divers qualify for state through qualifying standards met during regular season meets, being held now and must end by Nov. 8. For swimmers at Florissant Valley area high schools the last chance will be in the Suburban North Conference meet, Nov. 4-6 at the Bridgeton Community Center.
The Missouri State High School Activities Association meet will be Nov. 14-15 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. At press time the list of state qualifiers for the state meet is not available.
GIRLS TENNIS — Hazelwood West will send singles player Brandi Hudson and the doubles team of Ashley Janish and Kim Hawn will be competing this Friday-Saturday in the Class Two State Singles-Doubles Tournament at the Cooper Tennis Complex, Springfield. About two weeks ago in the District Two Tournament Hudson was second in singles while the Janish and Hawn was second in doubles. Hazelwood West was second to Parkway Central in district team points and West lost Oct. 14 to Parkway North, 5-4 in regionals.
