Whether you’re a car enthusiast, a classics lover or you just enjoy cool fast cars, the Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower is the place to be Saturday, August 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. Guests are invited to bring their classic, antique or just plain cool car to the Tower for the first ever evening ‘Car Cruise In.’ It’s also okay to just savor the sight of awesome cars while enjoying a soda, hot dog and chips provided by the Friendship General Baptist Youth Group.
The first 50 cars registered will receive a commemorative souvenir and a free tour of the Tower. Admission to the Car Cruise In is free. Tower tour admission rates apply.
“It’s always exciting to see the classic cars out and about in the summer,” said Deanna Barnes, Special Projects Manager for the Village of Hartford. “You get to see the result of the hard work and dedication that owners put into these cars. A lot of classic cars you see being driven around started as old, broken down frames of cars way past their prime, but with the care and passion the owners put into them, they become this really beautiful work of art. The same goes for the custom cars. These are car lovers who just want to share and spread their knowledge.”
The Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower is open seven days a week, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $4 for adults up to age 62; $3 for adults over 62, veterans and active military; $2 for children over 2; and free for children under 2.
