Ballpark Village and Alzheimer’s Association Celebrate Longest Day Saturday June 20

Ballpark Village is joining with the Alzheimer’s Association St. Louis Chapter to honor patients and their caregivers through a Longest Day Celebration Saturday, June 20 from noon to midnight. The Longest Day is a nationwide effort where teams complete a day filled with activity to raise funds and awareness for the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.   Ballpark Village’s team “Village People” will host several activities on the Busch II Infield throughout the day.

“We are excited to partner with Ballpark Village to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers,” said Stacy Tew-Lovasz, president/CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association St. Louis Chapter. “Alzheimer’s touches the lives of thousands of families in our community. Those families make heroic sacrifices to care for their loved ones as they battle this devastating disease.”

The celebration is family friendly and includes yoga, Zumba, lawn games and more. Patrons inside Ballpark Village in Fox Sports Midwest Live! can make donations during their visit. KMOX’s Mike Claiborne will host and judge a Cardinals Spirit Contest, awarding participants who have the best Cardinals gear two tickets to an upcoming Cardinals game.

“When you get to choose your own activity and way of honoring caregivers, you tend to be more energized and have a lot of fun. This is a new and exciting way to raise awareness and connect more people to the vital support, education, information and 24/7 Helpline available,” said Tew-Lovasz.

The day’s events are free and open to all ages. Donations are welcome. To start a team or learn more about The Longest Day Celebration, visit alz.org/stl. For more information about Alzheimer’s disease, visit the website or call 800.272.3900.
