Cross Country, Girls Volleyball Districts Begin later this month

Later this month Cross Country and Girls Volleyball will be competing in Missouri State High School Activities Association District events.

Class Four Cross Country will hold district meets on Oct. 25. Classes One-Three will hold districts on Nov. 1, the same day Class Four will hold the Sectional meets. State Cross Country will take place Nov. 8 at Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City.

The top four teams in Class Four districts and runners on teams outside the top four that finish in the top 30 will advance to Sectionals. The top four teams and runners not on the top four teams that finish in the top 30 in the Sectionals advance to state. In Classes One-Three Districts the top two teams and runners not in the top two teams that finish in the top 15 advance to state.

Girls Volleyball Districts will be held Oct. 27-30 with the winners advancing to the sectionals on Nov. 1, the same date as the Quarterfinals. Winners of Quarterfinal games advance to the state tournament Nov. 7-8 at a new venue but and old building, Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.

CROSS COUNTRY McCluer North will host the Class Four, District Three, with Chaminade, Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, Incarnate Word Academy, McCluer, Nerinx Hall, Normandy, Ritenour, Riverview Gardens, St. Louis University High, St. Joseph’s Academy and Webster Groves in the field. Sectional qualifiers will compete at Forest Park against District Four, which includes Pattonville.

In Class Two Cross Country Lutheran North will host District Two at Spanish Lake Park. That includes Brentwood Cardinal Ritter, Cleveland NJROTC, John Burroughs, John F. Kennedy, Metro, Northwest Academy of Transportation and Law, Principia, St. Elizabeth and Whitfield. In Class Three McCluer South-Berkeley will be in District Four at Mexico, Mo.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL — McCluer will host Class Four, District Six, with Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, McCluer North and Riverview Gardens in that field. Incarnate Word Academy will be in Class Four, District Five at Ritenour. Those district winners play Nov. 1 at McCluer North.

In Class Three Trinity Catholic, Lutheran North, McCluer South-Berkeley, Jennings and Cardinal Ritter will be among those competing in District Five at Westminster Christian Academy. The winner plays Nov. 1 at Warren County High.
