Hazelwood East head coach Corey Johnson best said about district football that the players understand the district situation and for most of the games played the effort was there. However against McCluer North he said East needs to “try to be sound as you can.”
Last Friday McCluer North won 50-0 on a rain-soaked and windy Troy-Buchanan field as Quartize Jackson scored three touchdowns and Juan Redmond added two. “I thought we handled the wet ball (and) did a good job,” said Schottmueller.
Hazelwood East, with three William Anderson touchdowns, shut out visiting McCluer High 42-0 last Saturday. “We made mistakes but we did some good things,” said Johnson.
