Four winners from the Hazelwood School District staff were honored March 4, by the Special School District of St. Louis County for their work and commitment to special education.

The honorees were recognized during the 2015 Special School District Salutes Banquet. The list of HSD staff receiving awards include:

The Special Ambassador Award, the highest recognition given by SSD for extraordinary commitment to the students and/or staff of SSD:

• Hazelwood West High School Administrative Team.
• Sheilah Fitzgerald, Jana Elementary principal.
• Jane McKinney, McCurdy Elementary principal.

The Key to the Classroom Award recognizes the achievements of teachers using innovate approaches to student learning:

• Jodi Schutzenhofer, Hazelwood West High School.
