Jesuit Day Sept. 13 at Old St. Ferdinand Shrine

Jesuit Day will be held this Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Old St. Ferdinand Shrine in the schoolhouse. Learn about the importance of the Jesuits to St. Ferdinand Shrine and also the settling of the Western part of the U.S. The authentic robe of Father DeSmet S.J. the “Black Robe” can be viewed and you can learn about his tremendous influence on the formation of the Shrine. Father Judocus Van Assche S.J. pastor of St. Ferdinand Church for 40 years will talk on Father Faherty S.J. – historian and author of many books. Father Faherty was connected with St. Stanislaus Seminary and is a historian. There will also be a used book sale and tours of the Shrine.
