What Would Have Been Reaction if Seahawks Receiver Caught the Ball?

I know you expect me to write about how bad of a call the Seahawks made against the Patriots at the end of the game and half of me says that I am going to but the other half says that it was a great call but bad execution.

Everybody and their brother expected Marshawn Lynch to get the ball on a handoff so what do you do as the defensive line lays low and the linebackers pull in tight— throw a quick slant under the defensive backs and you stride in the end zone. Unfortunately the route was jumped and the ball was thrown in a space where the player could not shield him off with his body and that’s what you get. A game winning pick-off.

Admit it, if it would have worked, it would have been the smartest play ever for the exact same reasons. Remember, execution is everything. How hard will it be as a player to know that you were that close to winning a ring. It will haunt these players for the rest of their lives.

That is what makes sports great. Everyone was saying that this would be a bad game and that ratings will be down. Just the opposite, it was the most watched TV event ever in TV history.

If you ask me, I think it was the left shark that made it so watchable. If you don’t know what I am talking about, I am referring to the shark to Katy Perrys left at halftime during the concert. That shark has actually got more attention than the game itself. I thought the halftime show was really good.

The production value of the stage and the theatrics were incredible. It was an unfortunate ending as the players had to get into a brawl but you could just feel that coming. That kind of tarnishes the game for the kids out there watching. It was a hard fought game with a great ending— don’t tarnish it with something like that.

Great Gesture by Tom Brady

One cool story that came from the game is that Tom Brady who won the MVP and won a truck is planning to give it to rookie Malcolm Butler who intercepted the ball at the end of the game. That is a great gesture but do any of these players really need a truck or car given to them.

The really cool thing would be to find a person or family that really needs the vehicle for everyday life. Now that would be a great story.

Life is all about giving back at any level, whether it is giving someone a hand to help them out or if it is financially giving to a charity organization. It is the little things that make a great difference and as much as it helps someone else, it makes you feel just as good.

As I wrap up today, the commercials for the big game just weren’t as good as in years past, at least I don’t think so. There were none that I am actually talking about today. As I search through my thoughts, I can’t even think of one that stand out at all. Just think all of that money and no impressions were made.
