City of Hazelwood Sets Jan. 18 For Annual Tribute to Martin Luther King

The City of Hazelwood’s Community Enrichment Commission will host its 13th Annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Sunday, Jan. 18 Civic Center East, 8969 Dunn Road at 7 p.m.

Guest speakers for the program include the following individuals: The Honorable Judge Jimmie Edwards, 22nd Judicial Circuit Court; Dr. Grayling Tobias, Superintendent of the Hazelwood School District; Hazelwood Mayor Matthew Robinson; and 2014 Miss Hazelwood Briana Barr.

Special musical entertainment will be provided by the Hazelwood East High School Choir. The Reverend Desiree Davis, Assistant Pastor of The Antioch Baptist Church, will end the service with a Benediction and lead the audience in a traditional candle-lighting ceremony honoring Dr. King’s legacy.

Six-year-old Money Edwards of Hazelwood, may steal the show when she presents The Gettysburg Address.
