The Florissant Senior Commission did it again this past Dec. 31 with the celebration of “A Night to Remember…” the most recent theme chosen for Florissant’s annual Senior Citizen New Year’s Eve party.

The only thing is that there was nothing “night” about this celebration at all. In fact, it took place during the day and the ball dropped at noon, a Florissant tradition. The 400 seniors getting down on the dance floor didn’t seem to notice the difference.

The room was serenaded by the music of Fanfare with Kittie Moller, who performed everything from rock to jazz to soft and slow; enjoyed by both those who had a tinkering to join the dance floor and those who preferred to take it all in from their table.

Party Attendees, from L to R: Martin Meenehan, Pat Meenehan, Julia Slattery, Ronald Suttmoeller, Richard Rosenkoetter, and Jeanette Rosenkoetter take a moment to pose at the celebration’s photo booth.

When all was said and done, the seniors concluded their celebration by welcoming a new year, a new beginning, a new opportunity to dream a new dream for 2015.
