On Saturday, Dec. 6, the annual “Christmas in Old Town Florissant” festivities will begin at 2 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Florissant City Hall with seasonal music and other activities. Santa Claus will arrive at 2:15 p.m. to visit with children.
Several activities will be available. Guests can:
- Make a craft (sponsored by the St. Louis County Library)
- Decorate a cookie donated by Helfer’s
- Have their face painted by the Valley of Flowers Queen and her maids
- Let Cookie the Clown make a balloon sculpture
- Listen to a Christmas story
- Listen to wonderful seasonal music
And of course have cookies and cocoa. There may even be a surprise!
Shops will be open along rue St. Francois. Be sure to visit: Brief Reflections, Stems Florist, Sandie’s Interiors, Florissant Old Town Marketplace “Children’s Boutique”, Korte’s Frames and Gifts, Dooley’s Florist and Gifts. City Diner, Helfer’s Deli, Old Town Donuts and Hendel’s Market Café and others will also be open.
Mayor Tom Schneider will flip the switch to light up Florissant’s Christmas tree at 5 p.m
Also Project Lift Off, a party for 5th to 8th graders, will take place at the James J. Eagan Center #1 James J. Eagan Drive from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 6
