F-F District Forms Task Force On Focus For Bond Issue in 2015

A task force is being formed in the Ferguson-Florissant School District to consider what the focus will be for a proposed $20 million bond issue that will be sought in the district next April.

The board of education last week announced plans to submit the ballot issue following discussion with staff members. Board secretary Paul Morris said no new tax would be part of this ballot issue, but present debt service tax levies would be extended.

The bond would be used for building needs and would be focused on general facility needs, energy savings and technology. said

Voters in August approved a 50-cent property tax levy that will increase property taxes to $5.54 from the 2013 levy of $5.04 per $100 assessed valuation.

The Ferguson-Florissant School District’s Board of Education recently approved the formation of the Ferguson-Florissant Foundation for Education (FFFE), which will focus on enhancing community support and expanding resources that enrich teaching, inspire learning, and maximize opportunities for all district students.
