Delmar Loop’s Fourth Annual Chalk Art Festival, Chalk The Loop, set Oct. 4
The Delmar Loop will host its fourth annual Chalk The Loop chalk festival on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. (rain date: Oct. 5). Registration / check-in will take place at the Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design west parking lot (6640 Delmar in The Loop) from 8:30 a.m. – noon.
Chalk The Loop invites accomplished artists and novices of all ages to create their own chalk masterpieces on the sidewalks of the Delmar Loop, designated “One of the 10 Great Streets in America” by the American Planning Association.
The 4th annual chalk art event in The Loop will feature the Largest Collaborative Chalk Mural in the Midwest to celebrate the 250th Birthday of St. Louis. Participants will take part in the creation of the collaborative chalk mural by filling in a piece of the 20′ x 30′ Birthday Cake and becoming a part of St. Louis history.
Entry fees for artists are $10 for adults, $8 for students, and $6 for children ten and under. The fee includes a box of premium chalk from Blick Art Materials and a Chalk The Loop goodie bag. There is no entry fee for spectators.
A grand prize will be awarded for each artist registration category (adult, student, child) with numerous pop-up prizes awarded in all categories. Prizes will vary and will include gift certificates from Loop businesses and sponsors, art supplies, and much more.
