Unaccredited in 2008, Jennings Schools Continue Improvement

Final 2014 LEA Annual Performance Report recently released by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education shows substantial improvement for the Jennings School District.

The Annual Performance Report (APR) shows that in 2014, Jennings earned a total of 109.5 points compared to 92 points in 2013, an increase of 17.5 points. Seventy percent is needed for full accreditation and Jennings far exceeded that goal this year.

Jennings lost full accreditation in 2008 and is one of 11 districts throughout Missouri that is provisionally accredited. Since Tiffany Anderson became superintendent in 2012, regaining full accreditation has been a major goal and each year the district has improved significantly resulting in exceeding full accreditation

“The improvements reflect the dedication of many in our school community as we as we ensure we interrupt the generation cycles of poverty through high quality education,” said Anderson. Additionally, Jennings maintained 100% of their graduation points and increased in subgroup academic achievement.

Anderson added “This is just the beginning of what we can expect from the schools here in Jennings. By putting students first, we are giving them the tools for a successful future.”
