CYC areawide Playoffs in Florissant this week

 

2014 ARCHIDIOCESE CITY/COUNTY YOUTH SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS

COMES TO THE CITY OF FLORISSANT

 

Mayor Thomas P. Schneider announce dthat the City of Florissant is assisting the North County CYC District to host the 2014 Archdiocese City/County Youth Softball Playoffs that will continue all this week except on Friday and conclude with the finals on Sunday, July 28

Many of the games are being played at St. Ferdinand Park on fields #1 and #6. Other venues being used are Christ Light of the Nations and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Participants that are playing range from 5th grade through 8th grade.

The North County CYC District parishes that helped organized this year’s event were St. Ferdinand and Sacred Heart, The mayor issued a special thank you to John Schlereth, chairman of the North County CYC District, Paul Bober, vice chairman and to the two North County CYC District Parishes that have volunteered their time to help with the set-up/ clean-up, registration of players, scorekeeping and field set-up before and after the games.

A public address system will announce each batter and play ball park music between innings. For complete of the schedule of the time, field location of each game and results please refer to www.cycstl.net.

All five Florissant parishes have teams that qualified for the City/County playoffs as a result of their success in regular league play this summer. Sacred Heart, St. Angela Merici, St. Ferdinand, St. Rose- Philippine Duchesne and St. Sabina have teams from various age groups in the tournament. Good luck to everyone!
