Even as the water is receding, Columbia Bottom Conservation Area remains closed due to flooding. The visitor’s center is high and dry, but the grounds and trail leading to the Confluence Point has been under water for the past week. Parking at the center was still available, but the lower parking lot and all other roads and trails are flooded.

The main gate to the area is closed due to water over the levee since June 18. Foot traffic is still allowed and the visitor center is open as of this writing. Center hours are Wednesday-Friday, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. It would be wise to call 314-877-6014 for updated conditions.

To reach Columbia Bottom, take the Riverview Drive exit from I-270, then go north on Riverview about 2.5 miles.
