Ferguson-Florissant Launches Superintendent Search Survey

The Ferguson-Florissant School District Board of Education will provide an opportunity for residents to give their input as the search begins for the next leader of the 24-school, 11,000-student district.

Experience-on-Demand, the firm hired to administer the survey, has set up a web-based questionnaire which asks about leadership qualities and goals that are a priority for the community. The school board  is seeking  a new superintendent following  the dismissal of Art McCoy earlier in 2014.

The district had also recently announced that it was submitting a 50-cents per $100 assessed valuation property tax increase on the Aug. 5th primary ballot. It would be used for maintaining and protecting current instructional programs and staffing.

School Board president Rob Chabot, said the board believes it is important to obtain input from the Ferguson-Florissant community as a part of the superintendent search process.

“Our district is a great place to live and raise a family, and we want to continue to provide the best education possible for all of our students,” Chabot said. “We are confident that we will attract the best candidates for its leadership from across the state and across the country. Our goal will be to find the best candidate available to fill the position, and we welcome the participation of our entire community in that process.”

The survey is available online through June 20 at www.surveymonkey.com/s/FFSDNewSuperintendentRecruiting

Those without internet access may contact the District’s Communications Office at (314) 506-9037 to request a paper copy of the survey.
