Top-Seeded McCluer North Hosts Class 3, District 2 Girls Soccer

McCluer North Girls Soccer is not only hosting a District Tournament but the Stars are the top seed as the games will be held at the Florissant (James J. Eagan) Civic Center Park.

McCluer North will play May 20 at 5 p.m. against the winner of the May 17, 11 a.m. game between fourth-seeded Hazelwood East and fifth-seeded Riverview Gardens.  Later on May 20, about 6:30 or later, second-seeded Hazelwood Central battles third-seeded McCluer. The May 20 winners play May 22, 6 p.m. in the championship game, the winner hosts the Class Three, District One winner, likely at Civic Center Park, May 27 for the right to play in the May 31 Class Three Quarterfinal against the District Three winner or the District Four winner.

The State semifinals, third-place and championship games are June 6-7 in Blue Springs, Mo.

Against Class Three, District Two teams, as of May 11, McCluer North (6-9) has a win over McCluer and was 1-1 against Hazelwood Central, the loss was in the Ritenour Tournament, Hazelwood Central (6-12), besides splitting against McCluer North, has a win each over McCluer and Riverview Gardens, McCluer (5-10) has defeated Riverview Gardens and Hazelwood East while losing to Hazelwood Central and McCluer North.

CLASS THREE, DISTRICT THREE AT PARKWAY NORTH — The top two teams in the Suburban North Conference, Pattonville and Hazelwood West, will meet May 20, 5 p.m. in a battle of the number two seed versus the number three seed. That same day, at 6:45, top-seeded Parkway Central will play the winner of the May 17, 12 noon game between fourth-seeded Parkway North and fifth-seeded Ritenour. The May 20 winners play for the district title May 22, 6:30 and the winner plays in the May 27 Sectional at the winner of District Four for the right to play in the May 31 Quarterfinal.

As of May 11, second-seeded Pattonville is 5-0 Suburban North, 10-11-1 overall while third-seeded Hazelwood West is 4-1, 11-9-1 and Pattonville has a 3-0 home win April 22 over Hazelwood West . Parkway Central is 11-5-1 as of May 11.

CLASS ONE, DISTRICT SIX, FIVE AT DUCHESNE— Top-seeded Duchesne plays May 20, 6 p.m., against the winner of the May 17, 12 noon game against fourth-seeded McCluer South-Berkeley or fifth-seeded North Technical. Also on May 20 second-seeded Trinity Catholic plays third seeded Orchard Farm at 8 p.m. and the May 20 winners play in the district final May 22 at 7 p.m.

On May 27 the winner of Class One, District Six hosts the winner of Class One, District Five, hosted by Lutheran North, in a Sectional for the right to play in the May 31 Quarterfinal against the winner of District Seven or the winner of District Eight. Overall, as of May 10, Duchesne is 16-5 while Trinity is 14-3-1.

CLASS TWO, DISTRICT FIVE AT CLAYTON –Incarnate Word Academy puts their 29-year district title streak on the line as a number two seed and playing number three seed Ladue-Horton Watkins May 20, 6 p.m. at Gay Field after top-seeded Mary Institute-Country Day plays at 4 p.m. against the winner of the May 17, 10 a.m. game between fourth-seeded and host Clayton and fifth-seeded University City. The district final is May 22, 4 p.m. and the winner plays May 27 at the winner of District Six for the right to play in the May 31 quarterfinal against the winner of District Seven or the winner of District Eight.
