New Closed Hearing Dates For Art McCoy are March 12, 13

The Ferguson-Florissant has announced that Dr. Art McCoy and his attorney have requested a change of the hearing date previously scheduled for Monday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m.  The superintendent was  placed on suspended leave and he and his attorney were schedule to answer charges from the board on why he was placed on paid administrative leave.

The hearing will now be held on Wednesday. March 12 and Thursday, March 13.  At this time, the hearing on the 12th is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and the continuation of the meeting on March 13 is scheduled for 6 p.m. The hearing will remain closed to the public and  media.

What happens after these two hearings could have an impact on the district school board races on Tuesday, Aug. 8 A slate of three candidates ( F. Willis Johnson, Jr., Donna Paulette-Thurman and James A. Savala) called  “Grade A for Change” has supported the superintendent.

They are among the eight candidates for the school board including incumbent board president Paul T. Morris and director Rob Chabot. The other three candidates are LaWanda Wallace, Kimberley A. Benz and Larry Thomas.  One current board member Chris Martinez whose term expires is not running for re-election.
