Valley of Flowers Activities Applications now Available

Since its start in 1963, the Valley of Flowers festival has grown to include dozens of events.  This year Florissant, Missouri celebrates the first Festival of spring on May 2, 3, and 4.   The theme is “Valley of Flowers Celebrates St. Louis’ 250th  Birthday” for 2014.

Applications for the 2014 Valley of Flowers parade, craft fair, flea market, food and game  booths are now available.  They may be picked up at the Valley of Flowers office, 601 rue St.  Charles, Florissant MO 63031.  Applications are also available by request to 314-837-0033 via  mail, email or fax or download from the website at www.florissantvalleyofflowers.com.

The parade will be held on Sunday, May 4. Parade applicants do not have to be a  Florissant resident or business to participate in the parade and there is no entry fee.  Parade  units are strongly encouraged to decorate their entries using any form of St. Louis’ landmarks  or a highlight from its 250 years.

Craft Fair, Flea Market and Food Booths at the James J. Eagan Center are for Friday, May 2  and Saturday, May 3 and cost $50 per space.  The Craft Fair is on the covered Ice Rink  Pavilion and the Flea Market is inside the building.  All food booths are grouped together in the  Food Tent on the grounds.

Food and game booth at the Knights of Columbus grounds are for Friday, May 2, through  Sunday, May 4 and cost $125 per space.
