Hazelwood Increases Fitness Center Fees for First Time Since 2007, Still a Bargain

The Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division is raising the fee for Premier Passes on both individual and family memberships. The new fees were effective Jan. 1 This is the first increase since 2007.

The Premier Pass is required for access to both fitness centers in the city. The Hazelwood Community Center is located at White Birch Park, 1186 Teson Road. Civic Center East is located at 8969 Dunn Road. Both centers offer a gym, fitness room, and game room. Civic Center East also has an indoor track. Both facilities have meeting rooms that can be reserved for groups and special celebrations.

Both fitness centers have some new enhancements, such as mirrors, flat screen TVx and WiFi.

The cost of an individual membership, which is now $60, breaks down to $5 per month, less than private fitness centers. For seniors, the annual fee is $30 or $2.50 per month.  Family memberships (up to four people) can be purchased for $150, which is the cost equivalent of 2-1/2 individual memberships.  At this time, the daily use and guest fees will NOT be increased.

In 2014, for the first time ever, the Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division is offering non-resident Premier Passes. Individual non-resident memberships are $100. A non-resident family membership is $250.

Other price changes for this year include the cost of park permits. A park permit now costs $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents. Non-residents can only rent pavilions at Musick

Park and Howdershell Park within 30 days of the event date.
