Historic Florissant, Inc. Holiday House Tour Dec. 1

Mrs. Claus will be in town to greet children at the Gettermeier House from 1 – 4 p.m. on the day of the tour.

The annual Historic Florissant house tour will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1 from 2 – 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at the Historic Florissant office in the Gittemeier House, 1067 Dunn Road and at Dooley’s Florist and Korte’s, both in the 600 block of St. Francois in Old Town.

Each of the stops on tour will be decorated for Christmas and will serve light refreshments to ticket holders.

Three homes are on tour for the very first time. One of these homes is the Moncey House, on Old Halls Ferry Road. It is a combination of two log cabins connected by new construction. Each ticket contains a map of the Old Town area and easy directions to the homes outside of that area.

New this year is a visit from Mrs. Claus, who will be at the Gittemeier House from 1 – 4 p.m. Parents can help their children write letters to Santa. Since she is not part of the House Tour, no ticket is required to come in to see her.

Dooley’s florist will also have their annual Christmas Open House from 2 – 6 p.m. with new gift items, light refreshments, and a drawing for a fresh Christmas centerpiece.
