Hazelwood West Girls Volleyball is the top seed in the Class Four, District Six Tournament which opens Monday, Oct. 28 and the tournament will be played at McCluer.
West gets the top seed despite having a losing overall record (9-16, 3-2 Suburban North Conference prior to Oct.16) because the Wildcats have 2-1 wins over McCluer North (11-10, 4-2 prior to Oct. 23) and Hazelwood Central (12-13, 3-3 prior to Oct. 22).
Hazelwood West gets a bye and plays Oct. 30, 4 p.m. against the winner of the Oct. 28 4 p.m. winner between fourth-seeded McCluer and fifth-seeded Hazelwood East. Also on Oct. 28 third-seeded Hazelwood Central plays sixth-seeded Riverview Gardens at 5:15 with the winner playing Oct. 30, 5:15 against second-seeded McCluer North. The Championship game follows the second semifinal game, Oct. 30 at 6:30

CLASS THREE, DISTRICT SIX — Trinity Catholic is the second-seeded team while North Technical is seeded fourth as the tournament takes place Oct. 28-29 at St. Charles High School.
Trinity, 8-12-1 overall, 2-6 in the Archdiocesan Athletic Association prior to Oct. 21, plays Oct. 29, 6:15 against the winner of the Oct. 28, 6:15 match between third-seeded St. Charles High (3-16 overall, 2-5 Gateway Athletic Conference North Division prior to Oct. 18) and sixth seeded McCluer South-Berkeley. North Tech, despite having a 13-10 record, will open the tournament Oct. 28 with a 5 p.m. match against fifth seeded Jennings and the winner plays Oct. 29, 5 p.m. against top-seeded Duchesne. The championship match follows the semifinals Oct. 29 at 7:30.
INCARNATE WORD ACADEMY will host the Class Four, District Five tournament and with a 5-18 record prior to Oct. 22 is seeded fourth and will open the tournament Oct. 28 4 p.m. against Gateway STEM with the winner playing top-seeded Pattonville. Ritenour, Rosati-Kain and Normandy are the other tourney teams and the championship match is Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. Incarnate Words’ losing record is very rare for a team that has won 11 Missouri State High School Activities Association titles
LUTHERAN NORTH is seeded fourth in Class Two, District Six at Lutheran St. Charles County and open play Oct. 28 at 5 p.m. against fifth-seeded Hallsville with the winner to top seed and tournament host Cougars Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. The seven-team district which includes Centralia, Montgomery County, Orchard Farm and Bowling Green closes out Oct. 29 with an 8 p.m. championship match.
Winners from the mentioned districts play in the Sectionals Nov. 2 at the District Eight winners’ sites.
