Hundreds of students, parents and members of the community attended the Hazelwood School District and the Hazelwood PTA Council’s Seventh Annual Back-to-School Fair, held Aug. 3 at the St. Louis Outlet Mall.

The fair coincided with the state of Missouri Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday weekend.

The Back-to-School Fair featured information booths for all 32 HSD school sites. Schools provided details about uniform policies, school supplies, clubs, activities and more. District departments such as transportation, child nutrition services, and instruction also had informational booths.

The Back-to-School fair offered free school Immunizations to eligible students and enrollment for new students. Tina Meier of the Megan Meier Foundation held a presentation for students and parents on “No More Bullying.”

The highlight of the fair was the entertainment provided by student groups. Majic’s radio host, Tammie Holland, served as the official emcee for the event. She gave away several door prizes and had fun with the standing-room-only crowd.

Brown Elementary School, Larimore Elementary School and Early Childhood Education were all awarded “Best Table” awards for their creative display of “My Favorites Things–School Edition,” this year’s theme.
