Shrine Hosts Night Out with Old Town Partners, K of C

The next Old Town Partners Wednesday Night Out event will be held at the Old St. Ferdinand Shrine complex on Wednesday, July 31.

The Shrine, in conjunction with Old Town Partners and the Knights of Columbus, will hold a family-friendly summer celebration from 7 to 10 p.m. which will include food, drinks, games and a walk-in movie.

Guests can bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and insect repellent and watch “Despicable Me” on a large inflatable screen.

Before the movie starts, there are several other events to keep guests busy. The Shrine will be open for tours, and there will be a square dancing demonstration.

Author and Ward 5 Councilman Keith Schildroth will be signing copies of his book, “St. Louis Cardinals: Where Have You Gone?” Schildroth worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for over 30 years. He covered the 1985 and 1987 National League Championship series and World Series, and he is a member of the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. In his book, he follows up with several former Cardinals to see where they are now and what they are doing in their post-Cardinals life.

Popcorn, lemonade, water, and beer will be available for sale. In addition, you can create your own ice cream sundae for $1.50 in the Old School House. There will also be a cake walk in the Old School House.
