Free Mortgage Counseling Is Available in Florissant

Federal funds are available to Florissant residents for mortgage counseling if they are at risk for losing their homes. Through a federal grant, the program provides money from Florissant so residents may receive mortgage counseling.

“On a strictly confidential basis, counselors will look at the individual’s debt and advise them as to the appropriate avenue to take in order to maintain their home,” said Mayor Robert Lowery, Sr.

The mayor stated that if additional funds are needed to help stabilize their mortgage, the city will call upon “Hope” to provide monetary assistance. Catholic Charities, operating through the Archdiocese of St. Louis, will provide aid regardless of religious affiliation.

To apply for free mortgage counseling, call the mayor’s office at 314-839-7601.
