FV Chamber Names JoAnn Donovan 2008 Business Person of the Year

The Florissant Valley Chamber of Commerce has named JoAnn C. Donovan, attorney at law, as the 2008 Business Person of the Year. JoAnn will be honored at a ceremony on Friday, April 11 at Norwood Hills Country Club, One Norwood Hills Country Club Dr., from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

For 25 years Donovan has been building a successful law firm that serves the community with family law, wills & trusts, probate, business litigation and general civil litigation. She has been a dynamic member of the Florissant Valley Chamber of Commerce during this time serving as the chairwoman of the legislative committee and she has served on the nite of stars committee. JoAnn has also served as a board of director, vice chairwoman and chairwoman.

JoAnn is a lifelong resident of North County. She is a graduate of Incarnate Word Academy. She earned a bachelor of music degree from Fontbonne University, a master of arts in education from Washington University and a Juris doctorate degree from Washington University School of Law.

She is a member of the Missouri Bar, Missouri Bar Solo and Small Firm Committee, Missouri Bar Family Law Section, Missouri Bar Probate & Trust Section, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis Fee Dispute Resolution Committee. She also works with the St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers Association – providing pro bono legal services throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area.

Along with building her practice, JoAnn has taken an active role in the community. She is an active member of the Florissant Rotary Club, Soroptimist Club, Florissant Ambassadors, North County Incorporated and Florissant Old Town Partners. JoAnn has served on the boards of Emerson Family YMCA, Trinity Catholic High School and T.E.A.M. (The Emergency Assistance Ministry). She served her parish, the former Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, as organist, pianist and choir director for 29 years.

Family is very important to JoAnn. Her husband, Keith Took, is the owner of Old Town Donuts. They have four children: Frank, Brad, Julie and Jeff. JoAnn enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking and training her two Doberman pinschers.

JoAnn is a valuable member of our community, demonstrating outstanding leadership in her personal, professional and community life..

During this event the Chamber will also be installing the 2008-2009 Board of Directors. Dan Boyle, The Boyle Law Firm, will be installed as chairman of the board.
