HSD hosts 3rd Community Outreach, Still Collecting for Tornado Victims

In a continued effort to provide support to the families affected by the tornado on April 10, the Hazelwood School District hosted a third Community Outreach Day on Saturday, April 27 at the HSD Learning Center.

At the Outreach Day, HSD provided a hot breakfast and again had donated items available for the families to select from. School social workers and counselors were also on hand to conduct current needs assessments with the families.

More than 100 people were provided support at the Outreach Day. To date, more than 330 people have been provided support by the District. HSD previously hosted two outreach days where staff helped canvass the affected neighborhoods and helped to distribute and collect donated items.

HSD is still collecting items for the families affected by the tornado. Items will be collected at the HSD Learning Center, 15955 New Halls Ferry Road, Florissant, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The following  is a list of items still being collected. They are listed in order of the current need:

Diapers (especially pull-ups and larger sizes), baby wipes, cleaning supplies, dish detergent, laundry detergent, blankets, toiletries and paper products
