Village North Retirement Community had their halls decked in style for the holidays at their Christmas “Bizarre Bazaar.”
Various sponsors contributed a tree of decorations for the event to dress the facility. The event itself was a bazaar of vendors making available such items as Avon, Party Lite Candles, Mary Kay and Victorian Treasures for residents’ easy access to holiday shopping.
The trees were bizarre in the items used to decorate them, purposefully showing that traditional ornaments are not the only thing that could add festivity to a tree. The Village North marketing team decorated theirs as “The Spirits of Christmas,” featuring wine bottles, corks, a cutting board with cheese and other wine accessories. The VN activities department featured snowman décor including a magic hat and poinsettia arms.
The VN Health Center used Holiday Travels as their theme supplying a road map chain, collectible miniature cars and cutouts of all 50 states.
Outside vendors supplied the other four trees. ComForcare presented “Tidings of ComForcare & Joy,” featuring medicine vials, stethoscopes, gloves, and band-aids. StarResource Home Care Services presented “You Can Be a Star,” with personalized star shapes in lights.
Baxter’s Distributing, the party supply store, donated a tree called, “Twas the Night before Fat Tuesday,” with Mardi Gras beads, masks, boas and a court jester. The Special School District’s tree had the theme, “Village North Family Christmas,” with framed photos of staff, residents, and students.
