Like New York, Boston and L.A., St. Louis has its own professional organization of film critics. Founded and organized through the efforts of Cate Marquis and Sandra Olmsted, the St. Louis Gateway Film Critics Association is a non-profit organization which “works to promote appreciation of cinema in the St. Louis area and bestows awards recognizing outstanding films at the annual St. Louis International Film Festival and the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase.”
