Mercy Children’s Hospital Boo at the Zoo Spooky Saturday. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Trick-or-treating from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free. For information, call (314) 781-0900, or visit www.stlzoo.org.

Mummies and daddies are invited to bring their little ghouls and goblins for safe and free trick-or-treating, entertainment, games and costume parade along the Pumpkin Trail. Children are encouraged to wear costumes. Sponsored by Mercy Children’s Hospital, Fresh 102.5, Y98 FM, Build-A-Bear Workshop® At The Zoo, and Prairie Farms/North Star Frozen Treats.

Halloween Spooktacular from 6-8 p.m. at Jamestown Mall.    The City of Black Jack, in conjunction with the St. Louis County Police Department and Jamestown Mall, will hold its annual Children’s Halloween Spooktacular. The safety center event will feature candy for the children, along with a costume contest for children that will begin at 6 p.m., hosted by Mayor Norm McCourt of the City of Black Jack. Please register for the contest upon arriving at the mall.

McCourt said, “This is a collaborative effort amongst the City of Black Jack, Jamestown Mall, and the St. Louis County Police Department, to provide the residents of the entire North County Community a safe place to get candy and participate in one of the biggest costume contests in the area.”

The Bridge at Florissant, 11010 Garden Plaza Drive will offer Halloween goodies and Trick or Treating  from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.  Please bring your little ones in costume for a fun  filled evening.

Trick or Treat! 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Florissant Valley branch of the St. Louis County Library. Come to the children’s area for a special craft and treat to celebrate Halloween. Event recommended for all ages.

Hazelwood’s “Halloween Happenings will be held ,from 6:30- 9 p.m. at Hazelwood Community Center, 1186 Teson Road, in White Birch Park. The event includes aCostume Contest judge by age groups,  goodie grab bags, a Halloween hayride and a Coloring Contest being offered to children in two age categories, Kindergarten thru 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade thru 5th Grade. Both coloring pages can be obtained at the Hazelwood Community Center, 1186 Teson Road, or Civic Center East, 8969 Dunn Road.

The contest deadline for submitting coloring pages is Wednesday, Oct. 31.  There is a limit of one entry per child.  Kids can work on their coloring pages at the Halloween Happenings and then turn them in.  The coloring must be done by the child without assistance from parents or older siblings.

Judging of the entries and announcement of the winners will take place on Thursday, Nov. 1.  One prize will be awarded for each grade level.  The prize wi  nners will be notified and asked to pick-up their award package at Civic Center East, 8969 Dunn Road.
