Florissant resident Rosemary Davison was chosen by the St. Louis County Council to receive the council’s proclamation and resolution proclaiming October 2 “St. Louis County Bicentennial Day in St. Louis County, Missouri.”

The county was formed two hundred years ago on October 1, 1812. The council chose one person to receive the proclamation and resolution on behalf of the citizens of the county.

Davison has been a historian of both Florissant and the greater St. Louis area for years.

County Executive Charlie Dooley recognized Davison’s many contributions through the years to the history of St. Louis County. County Council Chair Mike O’Mara expressed his appreciation to Ms. Davidson for her years of dedication to the history of St. Louis County.

Davison expressed her appreciation for this recognition. She said that she did not mind sharing that she is 94 years old, but she did want to remind everyone that she was not present when the county was first formed.

Florissant Mayor Tom Schneider congratulated Davison for this honor. He stated that while most in Florissant are aware of her long list of accomplishments here in North County, her influence in the entire county has also been enormous.
