Warrants Issued in the Robbery of a Salvation Army Worker


The Florissant Police Department announced that a warrant was issued on Wednesday, July 11 for Edward J. Mitchell by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for a charge of Robbery in the Second Degree. This is related to the robbery of the Salvation Army worker outside of the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Tuesday night, July 10.

On Tuesday night, a worker at the store locked up and was in her car with the bank bag for the day, containing approximately $1400. She was approached by a man she thought she knew. He reached into the car and took the bag.

After an investigation by the Florissant Police Department, Mitchell was identified as the robber and arrested. He lives in the 6000 block of Garfield Ave. in St. Louis.

Mitchell is being held at the St. Louis County Jail on a $35,000.00 bond.
