McCluer, MICDS Hosts MSHSAA District Track And Field, May 12

McCluer High School and Mary Institute-Country Day School will be hosting the Missouri State High School Activities Association District Track and Field Championships May 12, times to be announced.

McCluer High will be hosting Class Four, District Three. Coming to McCluer will include Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, Incarnate Word Academy, McCluer North, Normandy, Pattonville, Ritenour, Riverview Gardens, Roosevelt and St. Louis University High

MICDS will be hosting Class Three, District Three. Coming to MICDS will include Lutheran North, McCluer South-Berkeley, North Technical, Trinity Catholic, Jennings, Northwest Academy of Transportation and Law, Orchard Farm, Clayton, John Burroughs, John F. Kennedy, Priory, St. Charles, University City, Villa Duchesne, Visitation Academy and Westminster Christian Academy.

Each participating school’s athletes will be limited to participating in no more than four events and that includes individual and/or relay events, based on qualifying time or distance standards. The top four finishers from each district event (there are 18 events for boys and 18 for girls) will advance to sectional competition, May 19, and the top four finishers from each sectional event will advance to the state championships, May 25-26.

Athletes that finish in the top four at McCluer will compete in Class Four, Section Two May 19 at Timberland High in Wentzville while athletes that finish in the top four at MICDS will return to MICDS May 19 for Class Three, Section Two. The State Championships will take place May 25-26 at Dwight T. Reed Stadium on the Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Hazelwood Central won the last two Boys Class Four State Championships, McCluer South-Berkeley was second last year in Class Three Boys and Hazelwood East took fourth place in Class Four Girls the last two years.

Trinity Catholic was at the Archdiocesan Athletic Association meet May 1 at St. Francis Borgia in Washington, Mo., a new member to the AAA. The three Hazelwood School District High Schools, McCluer North, McCluer and Riverview Gardens as well as Pattonville and Ritenour will be at McCluer North for the Suburban North Conference championship meet May 2-3. McCluer South-Berkeley will host the Suburban East Conference Championship meet May 3.
