City of Hazelwood’s Halloween Happenings
Children can have a safe, dry and fun time celebrating Halloween at Hazelwood’s Halloween Happenings on Monday, Oct. 31, at the Hazelwood Community Center, 1186 Teson Road, in White Birch Park. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.
Sponsored by the Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division, Halloween Happenings is a free event and open to both residents and non-residents. In addition to ghoulish games and spirited madness, a costume contest will begin at 7:20 p.m. for all goblins, witches, and draculas in the following age groups: 2 & Under; 3-5 Years; 6-8 Years; 9-11 Years; 12-15 Years; and Age 16 & Over. Open judging will be available for those who miss their age group competition. A grand prize is awarded to the top finisher in each age group, and one given to the overall best costume winner. Lots of Halloween candy will be given to the kids, as well as food and beverages served to them. Hayrides will be provided too, if weather permits.
City of Florissant Kids Halloween Party
The Florissant Parks and Recreation Department and Police Explorers Unit are co-sponsoring a Halloween party, for ages 12 and over, on Monday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. at the James Eagan Center. Free admission. Refreshments provided along with games and prizes. Costumes are encouraged. A Florissant Resident Card must be presented for admission. For additional information call 921-4466.
St. Louis Mills, near Archiver’s will be celebrating the Halloween for the kids on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 .p.m. Registation starts at 12:30. Kids can participate in a costume contest with prizes for Scariest, Funniest, Cutest and Best Overall. The first 200 kids to register will receive a goody bag filled with Halloween treats and giveaways. Simon Kidgits Club members will also receive a free gift, while supplies last.
