Prescription Drug Medication Can Be Turned Over to City of Florissant

(Posted April 5, 2011)
Florissant Mayor Robert G. Lowery has  announced that the Florissant Police Department would be working with the Drug Enforcement Agency on program where anyonemay surrender old prescription medications that have no value to ythem. This collection will keep these medicines from being flushed into our water systems and creeks, the mayor noted.
You may bring these medications to the John F. Kennedy Community Center, the James J. Eagan Center or the Florissant Police Headquarters on Saturday, April 30,  from 10-2. The DEA will dispose of these discarded medications safely.
On the same day and same hours, the James J. Eagan Center will be holding a “Garage Sale” in the Skating Rink area. There will be about 40 booths to browse and shop. You can drop off your old prescription drugs and make a visit and enjoy this event also.
For more information on the prescription drop-off,  contact Sergeant Kevin Boschert at the Florissant Police Department, 314-831-7000. For more information on the Garage Sale, contact the Parks Department at 839-7670.
