• Adult Easter Egg Hunt – Friday, April 15, 7-9 p.m., for ages 21 and over. Fee is $10. Participants need to bring flashlights and bags in order to search for thousands of hidden eggs. They can also bring their own beverages, coolers and lawn chairs. Festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. A limited number of prize eggs will be spread throughout the park. Immediately following the egg hunt there will be a fireworks display. Tickets are limited and will be available until April 10 or until they are sold out. To purchase tickets, visit Hazelwood Community Center, 1186 Teson Rd., or Civic Center East, 8969 Dunn Rd. Rain date is April 16.
• Hunt for the Hounds – Saturday, April 16, 10:30 a.m. Fee: $12 per pet. This is Hazelwood’s first egg hunt for “Man’s Best Friend.” All four-legged participants will be using their cold noses to sniff out eggs filled with dog treats and prizes. The event will feature giveaways, prizes and opportunities for a photo with the Easter Bunny. For owners who like to dress up their pets, a “Best Bonnet” competition is going to be held. Bring an Easter basket and a digital camera to capture those precious moments. Dogs must be kept on a leash and under control. The area will be divided into size categories. Registration is limited.
• Easter Eggstravaganza – Saturday, April 23, 10 a.m. for children, ages ten and under. Free. Children can hop their way down the bunny trail to the staging area for Hazelwood’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The park will be divided into five age divisions: Under 24 months; 2-3; 4-5; 6-7; and 8-10. Youngsters will be able to register for a bike giveaway in each age group: one for a boy and the other for a girl. Plus, the Easter Bunny is going to make a visit. Immediately afterwards, the Piwacket Children’s Theater will present a “Puppet Jamboree” in the gymnasium inside the Hazelwood Community Center.
