Branch Pick-Up Underway

Hazelwood’s Street Maintenance Department has begun its annual collection of tree limbs and shrubbery trimmings.  This year’s schedule is set up for one pick-up for each street within the city limits.  Residents can find the schedule on the City’s website at www.hazelwoodmo.org or in the Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division’s Winter/Spring 2011 Activity Guide.

Residents need to stack their trimmings at the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday morning of their designated pick-up week. Branches should not be cut into short pieces. There is to be no wire, metal, trash, garden waste or other debris in the brush that is to be chipped. This could cause serious injury to the crew and damage the chipper machinery. No stumps or limbs larger than 6 inches in diameter will be taken by the City.

Trimmings done by a contractor should be hauled away by the contractor and not left at the curb for city crews to pick up. For more information, call 314-731-8701.
