St. Patrick’s Day Celebration to be held at St. Ferdinand Shrine

Have an urge to spend St. Patrick’s Day in a place that was built by Irishmen? John Mullanphy, an Irishman and Missouri’s first millionaire, helped build St. Ferdinand Church. He donated $6,000 to have the church constructed, plus Irish laborers helped build the church.

The celebration will be held on Thursday, March 17, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Shrine Schoolhouse. Corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, bread, desserts, coffee, water, and tea will be served. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. The cost includes a tour of the shrine.  The gift shop and book fair will be open.
