World Championship Irish Dancer at Age 11 Performs at 2011 Mayors’ Shamrock Bal

Jacob Sieve, age 11 of Imperial, Mo. will perform Irish dances at the Shamrock Ball

Jacob Sieve, age 11, and his sister Abbigail, age 12, will be the featured performers at the 2011 Mayors’ Shamrock Ball, scheduled for Saturday, March 5, at  Garden Villas North, 4505 Parker Road in Black Jack.  Sieve recently qualified to compete in the 41st Annual Irish Dance World Championships and plans to travel to Dublin, Ireland, for

this event in April 2011.  Their performance is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Sieve, of Imperial, Mo., is a sixth grader at Hodge Elementary School and dances for the Clark  Academy of Irish Dance under the instruction of Mary Jo Clark Cange.  He began dancing at the age of  eight after watching his sister, Abbigail, take lessons for about a year.  After Sieve took his first lesson,  he was hooked and enjoyed doing it. When Sieve isn’t taking dance lessons or performing competitively at Championship events, he enjoys  playing soccer and going hunting and fishing.

Shamrock Ball Open to All

The public is invited to purchase tickets for the Mayors’ Shamrock Ball on  March 5.  The cost for individual tickets is $75 per person. VIP tickets for $100  per person will allow admission to a VIP reception from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.  All ticketholders will be offered  complimentary valet parking, an evening of Irish fare, delicious food provided by several popular  restaurants, an open bar, and “live” dance music performed by Bob Kuban Entertainment.

Proceeds from ticket sales and event sponsorships benefit the Valley Industries Sheltered Workshop, a Hazelwood-based 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization that provides dignified  meaningful employment for adults with developmental disabilities.  It’s the first and only sheltered  workshop in the St. Louis area to achieve ISO 9001:2008 certification through BSI America, Inc.  This  gives clients the assurance that Valley Industries’ quality management system and processes are  controlled and will continually improve.

Tickets are available for purchase online at www.ValleyInd.net.  Both Visa and Mastercard can be used  for payment.  Orders can also be placed by check and mailed to the following address:  Valley  Industries, 143B James S. The event hosts include Black Jack Mayor Norman McCourt, Florissant Mayor Robert G. Lowery,  Sr., and Hazelwood Mayor Matthew Robinson.  However, this is not a political event and no  electioneering will be allowed.  It’s a great way for couples to dress up, step out on the town and enjoy  an evening of fun while supporting a worthy cause.  Attendees are urged to wear green formal wear.
